Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu is one of the main cities in south India. The population of Chennai is 5.9 million. The main festivals of Chennai include the Arubathimoovar festival, in which a colorful procession is carried out thru the streets. Dance festival of Mamallapuram, Kanthuri festival, Pongal and Navratri are the other festivals celebrated in the Chennai city.

The cuisine of the city is almost the same as that of the other cities of South India.But the non-vegetarian Chetlinad cuisine is hot, spicy, and delicious.

Bangalore Travel

Bangalore is one of the vibrant cosmopolitan cities in South India. The capital city of Karnataka is a major industrial and commercial center of the south India. The native language of Bangalore is the same as that of the state of Karnataka. 

The Bangalore city is well known as the Silicon Valley of the country, the main center of India's software industry. It has other major industries also like aircraft, electronics, and machine tools.

Bangalore,'The city of Gardens', is loaded with numerous gardens and historical sites. The Vidhan Soudha or the State Secretariat is a prime attraction of the Bangalore city. Other places like the Government Museum of Bangalore and the Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum are worth visiting. The Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, which holds a number of flower shows, especially during the Republic Day attracts several tourists every year. The Fort and Palace of Tipu Sultan is a major tourist attraction in Bangalore. The Ulsoor Lake in Bangalore is an ideal spot for picnics. 

If one takes a local tour to Bangalore he can find peace and make a wish at the temple in Bangalore, which is dedicated to Nandi, the Bull. Besides this, the Venkataramanaswamy Temple, the Gavi Gangadhareswara cave temple, and the Someshwara Temple are also famous in Bangalore.

The Karaga festival is one of the regional festivals of Bangalore, which is celebrated in the month of March/April. Earthen pot embodying Shakti is taken out in a night procession. Apart from this the Peanut festival is also celebrated with joy and excitement in Bangalore.

Besides gold and sandalwood, the Bangalore city is famous for coffee and spice. Uthapams, Vada, Puri Palaya, and idli are the daily menu for the people. Special dishes like the Patrode and Peardaya are made occasionally.

Hyderabad Travel

Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh is the fifth largest metropolis in India. This city of south India is famous for its monuments, temples, and mosques representing the culture and heritage of the region. The main festivals of the Hyderabad city are the Deccan festival, with its cultural programmes being celebrated in the month of February and Id, which is celebrated with ritualistic fervor. During these festivals Hyderabad's art, crafts culture, and cuisine are highlighted. In addition to this the Lumbini festival is organized to celebrate the 'Buddhist Heritage' of Andhra Pradesh.

Kochi, the commercial and industrial capital, is situated on the west coast of south India in the beautiful state of Kerala.The state of Kerala, is one of the most prosperous states of south India, flanked by the Arabian Sea on the western side and the western ghats on the eastern side. Malayalam, the youngest in the Dravidian family, is the official language of the State of Kerala. While English is widely used in business circles.

Kochi is palm-green commercial town of Kerala and the Kochi city consists of the mainland Ernakulam, which is one of the modern cities of south India where shopping market, bazaars etc are located. The Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over backwaters, the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Portuguese architecture, Boghatty Palace in Kochi enrich the heritage of Kerala.

The festivals like the Great Elephant Race, Onam, and Thrissur Pooram are celebrated all over Kerala, but Kochi is known for the Cochin Carnival, which is celebrated to trace the New Year celebrations.
